how the day works

registration opens at 9:30am. we welcome participants aged 8-21, please make sure to arrive by 9:45am at the latest. if you are under the age of 16, you must be signed in by a parent or guardian.

once we kick off, you will be sorted into groups. we’ll start the day with a physical and vocal warm-up, some fun games and getting-to-know-you activities. then you will head off with your group to rotate singing, dancing and acting. each group will work on a scene with a choreographed number and song. casting will happen in the small groups, but we structure our scenes so everyone will get a chance to shine.

at the end of the day, after a quick tech rehearsal, the groups perform for parents and loved ones. please arrive at 4pm for a 4:30pm performance, the day ends at 5pm.

our teaching artists are all pulled from professional musicals or are recent graduates of WAPPA, VCA and Queensland Con. as we know many of our participants dream of following a similar path, at lunchtime we will hold a 20 minute q&a where senior students will be able to ask questions of our talented teaching artist team.
